I realized 2025 is going to end and during the whole year I never introduced myself properly 😳 (but you are still reading now I guess it’s a good sign? 🤗), so here I am!

I’m Jessie - a travel lover who is obsessed with travel planning. Things as simple as “What to do in Sydney” and as complicated as “How to plan a trip to Machu Picchu” are covered in my blog. Often time, I’ll share on “how to plan” side since it involves information you may not know but are actually vital to your trip. If being upfront, it often involves cost.

Instead of just listing where to go, I love showing you how to think about planning a trip. From the big picture down to those details that can quietly break everything. I’ll walk you through how I approach a destination: understanding the geography, mapping the visiting order, choosing transportation, and building a route that actually makes sense. I also cover those small but crucial details people often miss - like how most rental car companies in Queenstown close at 4:30 PM. If you return late from a Milford Sound tour expecting to pick up a car afterward, you might end up scrambling and reshuffling everything the next day.

In short, planning would be a big part of my blog. But there are still some things related to planning that I won’t cover, such as “How to upgrade to a business/first class flight”, because…I am cheap 😂. Also, luxurious experience isn’t really my interest so you know what to expect here 😉

A little background about myself 

I spend most of my career doing project management/operation in startup ecosystem. I am that kind of person who sends questions in a numbered lists and feels bothered if you don’t answer by the sequence and miss many of them. So you know how organized I am 😇.

In 2021, I did a solo trip in EU, which is a start point of my international travel journey. Ever since then, I visit at least a new city every year. In 2025, I intentionally moved toward flexible remote work so I could travel more freely and slowly navigate to the nomad lifestyle I’ve always dreamed of.

I like to plan but not over plan. The practical reason to plan is because of the cost - real cost or mental cost. Unpleasant experience arising from bad plan used to bother me a lot. I am still learning embracing the unexpected during the journey, which I agree could be the spotlight of the journey and be reminisced when you get old! But that can’t happen all the time. Otherwise it would have negative effect on the travel experience. That’s why planning but not over planning is important for me 🙂.
