I'll keep you updated about Australia
Check off 4 things to do in Australia, and go with the flow.
Visiting Sydney for the first time, I first felt confused and then felt amused. The diversity of people, the up and down roads and the modern skyscrapers here all remind me San Francisco, the United States. But the light rails and the western style architecture hidden in concrete jungles also share some similarities to many European cities.

If you walk a bit far away from the downtown, like going to Surry Hills, that’s another world - you don’t have to find a decent park to walk because the whole neighborhood is a joy to stalk; you don’t have to go far to find your dinner option because the one at the corner would catch your attention.

I found this setting amusing, and what’s even more amusing is the uncommon combination I noticed. The western style houses in front of me is not what I grew up with, but the smell of the air here - a mix of some types of soil, plants and humidity is exactly the same as the one I’m familiar with back in my hometown. Sydney’s European street view with tropical landscape is definitely unique for sure. (Latin America also have this kind of combination, but they are particular different in terms of street views. I’ll share that with you in the near future!)
My Australia wish list
Blue Mountains (Katoomba, Greater Sydney Area)
Great Barrier Reef (Cairns)
Strawberry Watermelon Cake (Sydney)
Kangaroo & Koala (Sydney)
Keep my plan open
Since my stay in Australia lasts for only 2 weeks and most of the time will be in Sydney, so I came up only 4 things to check off, and leave the rest to go with the flow.
Blue Mountains is recognized as UNESCO World Heritage, so it’s a must see; Great Barrier Reef is the world's largest coral reef system, and I’ve heard of it since high school geography class, so it definitely can’t be missed; Strawberry Watermelon Cake has high reputation online, so my curiosity drives me to check it out; Kangaroo & Koala are native in Australia, so even though I can see them in a zoo in Taiwan, I want to see them in their motherland! As for the rest, let’s see what will surprise me on the way and I will share with you! 😃
